First things firstWhich Pompeii ticket you need

The question is not just “what does it cost” but “what do I want to see”. The famous Villa of the Mysteries lies outside the city wall – and is not included in the cheapest ticket.

The city area only: Forum, baths, theaters, amphitheater, the houses. Plenty for half a day.

    A maximum of 15,000 admissions. The big allocation – and the cooler hours.

    A maximum of 5,000 admissions. Fewer groups, but it sells out faster.

  4. Oct 15 – Mar 15Winter

    No time slots, just the daily cap. Last admission 3:30 pm.

Whether you may stay on the site after 1:00 pm with a morning ticket is not stated explicitly on the park's page – it speaks of “admissions” per time slot. Bring photo ID: the park reserves the right to check the name.

Not correct. The official ticket offices at Porta Marina, Piazza Anfiteatro and Piazza Esedra still sell tickets – within the daily cap.

How much are Pompeii tickets in 2026?

Pompeii Express for the city area costs €20, Pompeii+ with the suburban villas and Boscoreale €25, and the 3-day ticket for all sites €30. EU citizens aged 18 to 24 pay €2; admission is free for under-18s.

Are Pompeii tickets personalized?

Yes. Since November 15, 2024, every ticket carries the visitor's name. You have to give the names of everyone in your party when buying.

Where are the official ticket offices?

Only inside the Porta Marina, Piazza Anfiteatro and Piazza Esedra entrances. The stands in front of them are resellers.

When is admission to Pompeii free?

On the first Sunday of the month. A ticket is still required and the daily cap applies, and these are the busiest days of the month.

Which train station for which entrance?

For Porta Marina and Piazza Esedra, “Pompei Scavi – Villa dei Misteri”. “Pompei Santuario” is at the other end, near the amphitheater.
